10th ALL INDIA POLICE BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIP 2017
All India Police Sports Control Board (AIPSCB) has allocated to organise the 10th All India Police Badminton Championship, 2017 (for Gazetted Officers Only) to be hosted by Kerala Police. The Championship is scheduled to be held at Kochi from 20th December to 23rd December, 2017. 20th December will be the date of reporting of the Teams and the Players clinic will be held at 04.00 PM on 20.12.2017 at venue. The matches will start from 21st of December, 2017. The competition will be conducted in accordance with the Rules and Regulations laid down by the All India Police Sports Control Board, New Delhi.
VENUE AND COURT CONDITIONS
The Championship will be held at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Regional Sports Centre, Kadavanthra, Kochi. The Stadium has wooden courts with flood light facility and fully air conditioned. Matches will be played throughout the day as per schedule and If required at night as well.
Weather in Kerala will be pleasant during the period of the tournament and normal clothing is recommended. Temperature will be from 22o to 30o C approximately.
OPENING AND CLOSING CEREMONY
Opening Ceremony will be held on 21st December, 2017 at 09.00 Hrs. and closing will be held on 23rd December 2017 at 16.00 Hrs. at Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Kadavanthra, Kochi. The dress code for both the ceremonies will be, “White Shirt, Grey Trousers, Navy blue Blazer, Service Tie / Service Scarf and Black Shoes / Sport Shoes”.
Kerala Police Sport Office will function as Control Room for the Championship till 30th of October 2017. Control Room will shift to the venue i.e., the Regional Sports Centre, Kadavanthra, Kochi with effect from 18th of December, 2017 Control Room Phone No: 9446175835.

RECEPTION AND REPORTING
Participating Officers will be received from Railway Station or Airport at Kochi as per travel plan received. Officers arriving by road will be guided to their respective places of accommodation, if their travel plans are received well in time. It is requested that the tour programme of the participants be intimated well in advance to make necessary arrangements, so as to avoid any inconvenience.
ACCOMMODATION AND TRANSPORT
Teams will be accommodated in the Hotels and Guest Houses at Kochi on Payment basis. Accommodation plan will be intimated in due course. The Hotel options will be put up on this website by 1st of December, 2017, for your convenience.
Accommodation for the participating teams will be arranged from 20th December, 2017 onwards. All the participating contingencies are requested to furnish information about strength( rank & Gender) & requirement of rooms for their teams latest by 10th December, 2017 and also intimate about the senior officer(s) visiting the venue in connection with the Championship well in advance so that the arrangement for their accommodation and transport etc. could be made. Any team(s)/officer (s) making their own accommodation & transport arrangements Kochi should in advance to avoid any complications.
Medical facilities to all participants will be available at the venue of the Championship. Medical Teams will be stationed at the venue and the teams may seek assistance, if required.
All the participating offices and the managers/coaches are requested to carry their Service Identity Card (Temporary Identity Card) by the Organising Committee for the duration of Championship. All the participating Organisations are requested to furnish / upload two recent stamp size photographs of each official/participants along with the Entry Forms for the purpose of preparing Games Identity Card. Accreditation card for the championship will be available on request from the organisers.
Self discipline by one and all is requested
NADA AND WADA Anti-Dopping Norms will be applicable during the games. A Random Doping Test will be conducted during the Championship and if any competitor is found in possession/using drugs and narcotics to improve his/her performance, the individual along with team will be disqualified from the Championship. The participants are therefore, warned against possession/use of any banned substances listed under NADA/WADA for performance enhancement.

Competition will be held in the following 12(twelve) catagories:
- Team Championship -2 singles + 1 Doubles for the same police Organisation.
- Open Singles.
- Open Doubles.
- Veteran Singles 45+
- Veteran Doubles 45+
- Veteran Singles 50+
- Veteran Doubles 50+
- Veteran Singles 55+
- Veteran Doubles 55+
- Mixed Doubles (Lady Officers & Lady Wives can Participate)
- Ladies Single (Open)
- Ladies Doubles (Open )
Separate singles/doubles matches will be held for lady officers 45+ and 55+ categories provided there are at least four entries for these events. Please note that as per AIPSCB rules and regulations lady wives can only partner with their respective husbands in the mixed double event.

There will be practice session of participants on 20th December, 2017 from 07.00 Hrs. to 1800 Hrs. at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Kadavanthra, Kochi.
MANAGERS MEETING & CLINIC AND DRAW OF MATCHES
A MEETING WILL BE HELD WITH TEAM Managers/Captain/coaches at 1600 Hrs on 20th December, 2017 at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Kadavanthra, Kochi.
The grouping of different teams in two or more blocks will be decided by the Tournament Conduct Committee in the meeting. After the grouping, draws will take place. The fixtures and schedules of matches will also be decided at this time. After the draws, a general meeting of Managers will be held to discuss various arrangements and formal ceremonies.
All the participating teams should bring two flags (size 6 feet x 4 feet) of their respective organisations, which would be flown alongside those of All India Police Sports Control Board and other organisations at the venue of the Championship.
FOOD DURING GAMES PERIOD
There will be 2 (two) hours lunch Break on the match days. The participants can have their lunch on payment basis either (1) At the Canteen at the venue or (2) At their place of stay or (3) At the Venue itself.
