45th All India Police Science Congress - 2016

The 45th All India Police Science Congress held on 8th and 9th of December at Thiruvananthapuram at K T D C Hotel Samudra, Thiruvananthapuram. . As many as 150 participants from all over the country, who include academics, senior police officers and scientists and experts in various subjects associated with Police Sciences, attended the Congress.

The congress was inaugurated by the Hon. Chief Minister, Kerala Sri.Pinaryi Vijayan on 8th December, 2016, Adv. M. Vincent, MLA, Dr. M.C. Borwankar IPS, Director General, BPR&D, MHA, Smt. Nalini Netto IAS, Addl. Chief Secretary, Home & Vigilance, Kerala, Sri. Loknath Behera IPS, DGP & State Police Chief, Kerala, Sri. Parvez Hayat IPS, ADGP, BPR&D, MHA, Dr. B. Sandhya IPS, Addl. Director General of Police (SZ) & Chairperson, Organizing Committee were also spoke at the inaugural function.

Nineteen papers on the themes ‘Use of Technology for Better Investigation’, ‘Counter Terrorism and De-radicalization’, ‘Use of appropriate Non-Lethal Measures for Crowd Control’, and ‘Traffic Management to Reduce Fatalities in Road Accidents’ were presented by experts from various National and State Level organizations. An Open House to discuss Ideas to make AIPSC more relevant and vibrant was also held.

On 9th December, 2016 at 3 p.m. the valedictory session was inaugurated by Hon. Kerala Governor Justice (Rtd) Sri.P.Sathasivam. Dr. M.C. Borwankar IPS, Director General, BPR&D, MHA, ADGP Dr. B. Sandhya IPS, Organising Committee Chairperson, Dr. K. Sivan, Director, VSSC, Thiruvananthapuram, Sri. Parvez Hayat IPS, ADGP, BPR&D, MHA were also spoke at the occasion.

Mrs. MC Borwankar IPS and ADGP Dr. B Sandhya IPS, Organising Committee Chairperson said that the ideas and proposals expressed in the Congress will be looked into in detail in the coming days and will be utilized to enrich the police activities by various police forces in India.
