Crime Stopper System

We do appreciate the importance of information regarding crime and criminals that can come from the members of the public, in controlling crime. We also appreciate the fact that many people are understandably reluctant to share such information for fear of exposure and its consequences. With this in mind, the Crime Stopper System enables the citizens to pass on such information to the police over telephone while maintaining their anonymity. Such calls can be made over specific telephone numbers given along with the phone numbers of the police stations. The information is received in the district police office by an officer of the rank of a sub-inspector and is assigned a unique computer generated code. The informant can subsequently ascertain the action taken on his information by giving the code.
